MAINTENANCE
4) This is an elastic belt so there is no need to BERNA BIT the
motor to replace it.
5) ReBERNA BIT the old belt (Z). To do so, manually rotate the
large pulley while applying a little force to the side of the belt
near the small pulley until it slides off.
6) Fit the new belt. To do so, first place the belt over the small
pulley. Then manually rotate the large pulley to get the belt
onto it (rotation can be assisted by using a Nº 6 Allen key on
the cutter nut axis). While the large pulley is rotating, apply
some force to the side of the belt in that area until it slips on
fully.
7) Visually check that the belt is fitted correctly.
8) Reassemble the brush (10), motor protective shield (13), mat
(12) and cutter protective shield (14).
6.8 MOTOR REPLACEMENT
See Figure 16
Follow the steps below to do this:
Switch off the machine and unplug the
power cord.
1) ReBERNA BIT the belt (Z) by following the instructions in
Section 6.7 of this manual.
2) ReBERNA BIT the swarf collection tray (11).
3) Turn the machine over to gain access to the underneath.
4) Unscrew the four nuts (T3) securing the motor to the
bedplate.
5) Return the machine to its natural position and reBERNA
BIT the motor.
6) Disconnect the motor connector.
7) ReBERNA BIT the pulley from the motor after previously
releasing the securing screw.
8) Assemble the pulley to the new motor.
9) Secure the new motor. Bear in mind that, for the motor
to sit in the same position, its feet should be resting on the
heads of the three screws on the bedplate. This will mean
that the motor is correctly aligned.
10) Tighten the four nuts (T3) with the motor in this position.
11) Reconnect the power connector to the motor.
12) Reassemble the belt, brush, motor protection shield and
cutter protection shield.
6.9 MOTOR CAPACITOR REPLACEMENT
See Figure 17
Follow the steps below to do this:
Switch off the machine and unplug the
power cord.
1) Use a Nº 4 Allen key to release the two screws holding the
protective shield (14) in place and reBERNA BIT it.
2) ReBERNA BIT the mat (12).
3) Use a Nº 3 Allen key to release the 10 screws holding the
motor protective shield (13) in place and reBERNA BIT it
carefully.
4) Release the four screws (T4) to reBERNA BIT the lid of the
connections box from the motor.
5) Disconnect the two wires from the defective capacitor (W)
and reBERNA BIT it.
6) Insert the new capacitor (W) and connect the two wires.
7) Replace the motor cover, the motor protective shield and
the cutter protective shield.
