Safety Instructions
2.1
Installation, dismantling, conversion
Only qualified and trained persons (experts)
may install, repair and perform the function-
al testing of the Truma product in compli-
ance with the operating and installation
instructions and generally approved engi-
neering practises� Experts are people who, on the basis
of their professional training and qualifications, their
knowledge of and experiences with the Truma products
and the applicable standards, perform the required
work correctly and can identify possible dangers�
The following applies for non-experts:
Do not open the device�
Do not install the device, either in different locations
or in different vehicles�
Do not dismantle the device, reposition it or repair it
on your own�
Have the device installed, dismantled or repositioned
only by an expert�
2.2
General safety
Not following the rules in the operating instructions can
result in serious material damage and serious risk to the
health or life of persons�
Read and closely observe the safety instructions to
prevent danger, material damage and injury�
Observe local laws, regulations and standards for
the use and operation of the furnace�
2.3
Gasoline or exhaust gas leak
Close all surrounding doors and windows during fur-
nace operation�
If there is a noticeable smell of gasoline or exhaust gas
in the passenger compartment while door and windows
are closed:
Switch off the device,
Open windows and doors,
Do not start the vehicle engine,
Have an expert inspect the complete system�
2.4
Guaranteeing a safe operating envi-
ronment
The device may be operated only with appropriate
Truma control panels and accessories and control
panels approved by Truma�
Make sure that the warm air ducts throughout
the vehicle, especially in storage areas, are not
squashed or damaged by cargo�
Objects that are sensitive to heat (e�g� spray cans or
matches) and flammable materials / liquids may not
be stored in the same compartment as the device,
since, under certain circumstances, higher tempera-
tures may occur�

Do not store objects that are sensitive to heat or
flammable materials / liquids in direct contact with
the warm air ducts�
Do not place open containers containing flamma-
ble liquids / vapours or cloths soaked in flammable
liquids / vapours near the air intake� Do not spray
flammable sprays into the air intake�
Do not place objects such as plastic bags or ski
boots directly in front of the warm air outlets�
Do not dry laundry directly in front of the warm air
outlets�
Keep the area in front of the circulated air intake
and the warm air outlets free from flammable and
heat-sensitive materials� Never block the warm air
outlets�
When the device is running, the wall cowl must not
be blocked, for example, with a cover or insect grille�
To ensure clean combustion, always keep the wall
cowl clean (remove slush, ice, leaves etc�)� Also do
not park the vehicle with the wall cowl closer than
40 in� (1 m) to a wall or other obstacle�
Caution from hot surfaces and exhaust gases� When
the device is running, do not touch the area around
the wall cowl and do not lean any objects against
the wall cowl or the vehicle�
Do not operate the device where flammable va-
pours or dust can form, e�g� in the vicinity of a petrol
station, a fuel, coal, wood or grain storage facility or
similar�
2.4.1 Handling exhaust gases
The exhaust gases of the furnace can cause poisoning
in enclosed spaces (e�g� a garage, workshop, ferry)� If
the vehicle is parked in closed rooms:
Switch the furnace off on the control panel�
Disable the time switch / timer function�
2.5
Duties of the user / vehicle owner
The user is responsible for the water and its quality
in the water container� Only drinking water must
be used� To prevent the growth of micro-organisms
(legionella) in the water container, see "7�2 Cleaning
the water system" on page 12�
The vehicle owner is responsible for correct opera-
tion of the device�
The furnace must comply with the regulations of the
country in which it is used� National rules and regu-
lations must be obeyed�
The exhaust system must be inspected visually if
the furnace has not been in use for more than 3
months, but at least once every 2 years� Check that
all connections are tight and that the wall cowl is not
blocked�
If the furnace is not being used, always drain off
the water if there is a risk of frost� No warranty or
guarantee claims and no liability will be accepted for
frost damage�
