STORAGE
FUEL TANK AND CARBURETOR DRAIN
1. Place a petrol container under the carburetor and use a funnel to avoid spilling fuel.
2. Remove the drain bolt from the carburetor and sediment cup and then move the fuel valve lever to the ON position.
3. After all the fuel has drained into the container, reinstall the drain screw and sediment cup and tighten them firmly.

STORAGE PRECAUTIONS
1. Change the engine oil.
2. Remove the spark plugs.
3. Pour a tablespoon (5-10 cc) of clean motor oil into the cylinder.
4. Pull the starting rope several times to distribute the oil in the cylinder.
5. Reinstall the spark plugs.
6. Slowly pull the starting rope until you feel resistance. This will close the valves so that moisture cannot enter
the engine cylinder. Return the starter rope carefully.
If you will store your motor pump with gasoline in the fuel tank and carburetor, it is important to reduce the
risk of ignition of gasoline steam. Select a well-ventilated and remote storage
any flame-operated appliance, such as a boiler, water heater or clothes dryer.
It also avoids any area with an electric motor that produces sparks or where power tools are operated. If possible,
avoid high humidity storage areas as this promotes oxidation and corrosion.
Unless all fuel has been drained from the fuel tank, leave the fuel valve lever in the OFF position to reduce the
possibility of fuel leakage.
Position the equipment so that the engine is level. Tilting can cause fuel or oil leakage.
With the engine and exhaust system cold, cover the engine to prevent dust from entering. A hot engine and
exhaust system can ignite or melt some materials. Do not use plastic sheeting as a cover
dust. A non-porous cover will trap moisture around the engine, promoting oxidation and
corrosion.
If the motor pump is equipped with electric starter, recharge the battery once a month while the engine is stored.
This will help extend the life of the battery.
USE AFTER STORAGE
Check the engine as described in chapter BEFORE COMMISSIONING. If the fuel was drained during preparation for
storage, fill the tank with new gasoline. If store a container of petrol for refuelling, make sure it contains only new
gasoline. The Gasoline oxidizes and deteriorates over time, causing difficulties to start. If the cylinders were covered
with oil during preparation for storage, the engine may emit smoke briefly when starting. This is quite normal.
