If you are an inexperienced user, we recommend that you practice doing simple jobs and, if possible, in the
company of an experienced person.
•
If you leave the pump for any reason, always turn off the engine. Do not leave the machine running
unattended.
•
Keep children and pets away from the operating area.
•
The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards that occur to people, himself and his property.
PERSONAL SAFETY
•
Be alert and use common sense when driving this machine. Never use equipment with faulty protections or
without safety devices.
•
Do not modify the controls of the machine, nor use it if any of its components is damaged.
•
Avoid inhalation of exhaust gases. This machine produces dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide, which
can cause dizziness, fainting or death.
•
Do not use this machine when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medicines.
•
Do not touch the machine's exhaust or silencer with the engine running or just after stopping it. These parts
get very hot during operation and stay warm for a while after stopping the engine. Allow the engine to cool
before transporting the motor pump or storing it indoors.
•
Dress appropriately, do not wear loose clothes or jewelry. Do not clean the equipment with flammable liquid
solvents or aggressive abrasives. It is recommended to use safety goggles, hearing protection, resistant and
non-slip gloves and sturdy footwear during the operation of the machine.
•
Avoid unintentional start-up of equipment. Make sure the switches are in the off position before starting
the machine.
SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE
•
Keep the work area clean, tidy, and well-lit. Untidy, dark areas can cause accidents.
•
Do not use the machine at extreme temperatures and keep it away from excessive humidity.
•
Do not use this machine in explosive atmospheres in the presence of flammable liquids, gases and dust.
•
Do not operate the machine on a paved or gravel surface where ejected material may cause injury. Place
the water pump on a firm, flat surface.
•
Keep children, curious and animals away while using this machine.
•
When the work is performed simultaneously by two or more people, always check the location of the
others and keep a sufficient distance to ensure safety.
•
Operate the machine only when it is on a fixed, stable and level surface. Sliding or unstable surfaces can
cause loss of balance or machine control.
•
To avoid fire hazards, keep the pump at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from building walls and other
equipment during operation.
•
Do not place flammable objects near the engine.
SAFETY IN THE USE OF FUELS
•
Gasoline and oil are dangerous, do not inhale or ingest them. If you eat fuel and/or oil, go to the doctor
quickly. If any part of your body comes into contact with fuel or oil, clean the area with plenty of soap and
water as soon as possible. If your eyes or skin is irritated, contact a doctor immediately.
•
Fuel and oil are dangerous and highly flammable chemicals. If they ignite, put out the fire with a dry
powder extinguisher.
•
Do not spill fuel or smoke near the machine.
•
Always turn off the engine before refuelling.
•
Refuel outdoors, in a well-ventilated area, with the engine stopped and the pump on a level surface. Do
not fill the fuel tank over the shoulder of the fuel filter.
•
Make sure to clean the spilled fuel before starting the engine. After refuelling, make sure the tank cap is
properly and securely closed.
•
If you find a fuel leak, do not start or start the machine until the leak has been repaired.
•
Add fuel before starting the machine. Never when the engine is running or when the machine is hot.
•
Make sure the fuel cap is properly closed.
•
Fuel stored in the carburetor for long periods of time can cause a hard start and could also lead to further
repairs and maintenance.
•
Always store fuel in approved containers.
•
Carbon monoxide hazard. Exhaust gases contain poisonous carbon monoxide. Avoid inhalation of exhaust
gases. Never run the engine in a closed garage or confined area.
