MAINTENANCE
GENERAL ASPECTS
FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 93 or higher. These engines are certified to run on unleaded
gasoline, and generate less sediment in the engine and spark plugs and prolong the life of the exhaust system.
Never use old or contaminated gasoline or a mixture of gasoline and oil and prevent dirt or water from entering
the fuel tank.
Occasionally, you may hear a slight "spark" or "ping" (metal noise) while the machine is operating under heavy
loads, although this is not cause for concern.
If a "spark" or "ping" occurs at a constant engine speed under normal load, the gasoline mark changes. If noises
persist, consult the Official Technical Service.
Attention: Running the engine with persistent squeaking can cause damage to the engine and is considered
misuse, so the dealer's limited warranty does not cover parts damaged by this use.
OIL LEVEL VERIFICATION
Check the engine oil level with the engine stopped and in a level position.
1. Remove the filling cap/measuring rod and clean it.
2. Insert and remove the rod without screwing it into the filling mouth and check the oil level shown on the
measuring rod.
3. If the oil level is low, fill up to the edge of the oil filling hole with the recommended oil.
4. Screw the filling cap/measuring rod firmly in.
Running the engine with a low oil level can cause damage to the engine. The Oil Alert system will automatically
stop the engine before the oil level drops below the safe limit. However, to avoid the inconvenience of an
unexpected shutdown, always check the engine oil level before starting.
OIL CHANGE
For your safety and to maximize the life of the product, it is very important to take a few minutes before starting
the machine to check the status of the engine. Fix any problems you encounter or have the Official Technical
Service correct them before starting the engine. Improper maintenance of this engine or failure to correct a
problem before operation could cause a malfunction in which the user could suffer serious injuries.
Warning: Before starting the pre-operation checks, make sure the motor pump is level and the motor switch is in
the OFF position.
Drain the oil when the engine is still hot to ensure a quick and complete drain.
1. Place a suitable container under the engine to collect the used oil and then remove the cap/rod from the oil
tank and the drain plug to drain the oil.
2. Allow the used oil to drain completely and then reinstall the drain plug by tightening
firmly.
3. With the equipment level, refill the oil tank to the outer edge of the filling hole with the recommended oil. (Oil
tank capacity: 154F: 0.3 L)
Attention: Running the engine with a low oil level can cause damage to the engine. The Oil Alert system
(applicable engine types) will automatically stop the engine before the oil level drops below the safe limit.
However, to avoid the inconvenience of an unexpected stop, fill up to the upper limit and check the oil level
regularly.
4. Screw the filling cap/measuring rod firmly in.
