ASSEMBLY
STEP BY STEP
INSTALLATION OF THE SUCTION HOSE
Use a commercially available hose and hose connector with the hose clamp supplied with the pump. The suction
hose must be reinforced with a non collapsible wall or a twisted wire construction.
Do not use a hose smaller than the suction port size of the pump. Minimum hose size: 40ZB2140ZB21-1.2Q = 1.5
in (40 mm).
The suction hose should not be longer than necessary. The pump performance is better when the pump is close
to the water level and the hoses are short.
Use a clamp to firmly attach the hose connector to the suction hose to prevent air leakage and suction leaks.
Check that the hose connector sealing washer is in good condition.
Install the filter (supplied with the pump) at the other end of the suction hose and secure it with a clamp. The
filter will help prevent the pump from getting clogged or damaged with waste.
Tightly tighten the hose connector on the suction port of the pump.

INSTALLATION OF THE EMPTYING HOSE
Use a commercially available hose and hose connector as well as the clamp supplied with the pump.
It is better to use a short, large diameter hose as it will reduce fluid friction and improve pump performance. A
long or small hose of small diameter will increase fluid friction and reduce pump performance.
Tighten the hose clamp tightly to prevent the discharge hose from disconnecting under pressure.
PRIMING THE PUMP
Before starting the engine, remove the filling cap from the pump chamber, and completely fill the pump chamber
with water. Replace the filling cap and tighten it tightly.
Operation of the dry pump will destroy the pump seal. If the pump has run dry, stop the engine immediately and
let it cool before priming.
