MAINTENANCE
THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE
Good maintenance is essential for safe, economical and trouble-free operation. It will also help reduce
air pollution.
Improper maintenance of this engine or failure to correct a problem prior to its operation can cause a
malfunction that can cause serious injury or even death. Always follow the inspection and maintenance
recommendations and programs in this manual.
To help you take good care of your motor pump, the following pages include a maintenance schedule,
routine inspection procedures and simple maintenance procedures using basic hand tools. Other service
tasks that are more difficult or require special tools must be performed by professionals and are usually
performed by the Official Technical Service.
The maintenance programme applies to normal operating conditions. If you operate your equipment in
unusual conditions, such as sustained high-load or high-temperature operation, or use it in unusually wet
or dusty conditions, consult your dealer for recommendations applicable to your individual needs and use.
