Drive Control Using an External Device (Auxiliary Input)
The Auxiliary Input stops or starts the drive output using an
external device such as a float switch, timer, or irrigation con-
troller. This input can be wired using either an internal 24 VDC
signal, or an external 24 VDC supply.
Use the FE Connect Mobile App to control how the drive will
react when the AUX INPUT control terminal is used. Refer to
"Communications" on page
•
F F a a u u l l t t w w i i t t h h H H i i g g h h (default): the drive output will stop when
the external switch closes.
•
F F a a u u l l t t w w i i t t h h L L o o w w : the drive output will stop when the ex-
ternal switch opens.
In both cases, F F a a u u l l t t F F 2 2 6 6 will display on the monitor. When
the switch moves to the opposite position, the drive output
will restart after a short delay.
The following are example system setups:
1. If using the system to maintain water level in a holding tank:
•
Use a float switch that closes when the water reaches the desired level
•
Set the input to F F a a u u l l t t w w i i t t h h H H i i g g h h .
2. If using the system to remove water from a tank:
•
Use a float switch that opens when the tank empties.
•
Set the input to F F a a u u l l t t w w i i t t h h L L o o w w .
3. If using a timer to start an irrigation system:
•
Set the timer to send a 24 VDC signal for when the system should operate.
•
Set the input to F F a a u u l l t t w w i i t t h h L L o o w w .
Duplex Alternator Feature
Configuration
SubDrive Connect models support the built-in Duplex Alternator functionality. Install an appropriate
communication cable between two SubDrive Connect units.
Before the Duplex Alternator function will operate, configure each drive individually using the FE Con-
nect mobile app. Configure the initial lead drive as Pump 1 and the initial lag drive as Pump 2. Refer to
"Communications" on page 41
When using the Duplex Alternator function with pressure transducers, set the Primary Setpoint of Pump
1 to the desired system pressure. The drive configured as Pump 1 will automatically control the pressure
set point of the controller configured as Pump 2, setting it to 5 PSI lower than the primary system set
point.
When using the Duplex Alternator function with pressure switches, set the pressure switch, connected to
the drive configured as Pump 1, at least 3 PSI higher than the pressure switch connected to the drive
configured as Pump 2.
IMPORTANT: When using the drawdown function, configure the same cut-in pressure on both drives.
