Dynamic alignment
The use of a slide adapter is recommended for dynamic alignment purposes, as it provides the best solution to troubleshooting
the most common alignment issues listed below:
•
Hard or soft heel
•
Hard or soft toe
•
Varus or valgus movements during stance phase
Once the optimal relative socket/foot alignment is determined, use plantarflexion or dorsiflexion at the proximal foot adapter to
optimize heel-to-toe comfort and energy return.
9.
ASSEMBLY
After dynamic alignment, tighten the pyramid adjustment screws according to the specifications of the connector manufacturer.
Secure pyramid adjustment screws with a thread locking adhesive (i.e., Loctite 242).
RUSH ROGUE 2 EVAQ8
The straight barb, exhaust filter, tubing, inline filter, socket right angle barb and housing, tube securing hook and loop tape are
included with the foot and will require assembly prior to use.
To connect the vacuum system to the socket:
•
Connect a short piece of the tubing to the socket right angle barb.
•
Install the inline filter into the distal end of the tubing (the inline filter may be placed anywhere in the tubing run between
the socket and vacuum pump heel).
•
Connect a second piece of tubing to the distal end of the inline filter and route the tube to the medial side of the pylon
or wrap the tubing around the pylon (to prevent damage to the tube or snagging while walking).
•
Cut the tubing to desired length and connect to the straight barb located in the recessed area of the vacuum pump heel.
•
Secure the tubing to the pylon using the included hook and loop tape or other appropriate tape.
Spectra sock
A Spectra sock is included to protect the foot shell and fiberglass components and minimize noise. It must be placed over the keel
and sole plates before mounting the foot shell.
NOTE: The RUSH ROGUE 2 H2O is not intended to be worn with a foot shell. Therefore, it does not include a Spectra sock.
Foot shell
To install and remove the foot shell, use a shoehorn to prevent damage of the foot module.
Never remove the foot from the foot shell by pulling manually. Never use a screwdriver or any other inappropriate
instrument to remove it. This could damage the foot.
The RUSH ROGUE 2 H2O is not intended to be worn with a foot shell. Doing so may damage the foot module.
10.
ADJUSTMENTS
If the patient still requests additional heel stiffness, use the heel wedges provided. These heel wedges use a double-sided sticker
so the lower face of the sole plate should be degreased before using. See figures below for correct wedge placement.
NOTE: The RUSH ROGUE 2 H2O does not include heel wedges.
CORRECT HEEL WEDGE PLACEMENT
Install Heel Wedge on plantar surface of rocker approximately
3.2 mm (1/8") forward from posterior end.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
INCORRECT HEEL WEDGE PLACEMENT
Placement between components will adversely affect foot
performance.
