ly flammable. Only store
petrol in containers intended for
this purpose. Only pour petrol into
the tank when outdoors and do not
smoke while filling the tank. Fill the
tank before starting the engine.
Do not open the fuel cap or pour in
petrol when the engine is running
or when the lawnmower is hot.
If petrol overflows from the tank,
do not attempt to start the engine.
Instead, move the lawnmower
away from the area where you
spilt the petrol. Do not attempt to
start the engine until the petrol
vapours have evaporated. If you
need to empty the fuel tank, this
must be done outdoors. For safety

reasons, always install a new fuel
cap and other tank caps if they
are damaged.
To prevent injury due to burns keep
the engine/exhaust and the area
around the fuel tank free of grass,
leaves and escaping grease (oil).
7.2 Adjusting the working depth
Warning! Only adjust
A
the working depth when
the engine is switched off.
Warning! The working
A
depth is pre-adjusted by
Brill and should only be readjusted
with care as a too deep insertion
into the ground can result in the
implement being subjected to over-
loading. The correct aerating depth
is < 3 mm.
The working depth must be
adjusted in accordance with
the corresponding grass and
ground situation.

to be tilted when switching
the engine on, the exception being
if the aerator needs to be lifted
during the process. In this case, tilt
it only as far as absolutely neces-
sary and only lift up the side which
is facing the user.
Before starting, switch the control
lever (fig. B pos. 3) to P (Park).
The working depth can be continu-
ously adjusted with the adjusting
hand wheel (fig. C pos. 7). The
adjusted working depth depends
on the blade wear and can be
read out from the display (fig. C).
In order to do so, the implement is
to be switched off and the control
lever (fig.B pos. 3) set to Position D
(Drive).
After frequent use, the working
depth can be readjusted in accor-
dance with the blade wear.
Note: Unplug the spark plug con-
nector! The setting should always
be inspected and adjusted on flat
ground, when the control lever
(fig. B pos. 3) is at position D
(fig. B), the blade points should
make slight contact with the
ground. The adjustment hand
wheel (fig. C pos. 7) can be turned
