ILLUMINATION DEVICE
In the equipped models, the surgical field lighting operates in compliance with what has been indicated in the dental unit
on which it has been installed. Refer to the dental unit user manual for the operation of the lighting unit.
MAINTENANCE
The turbine must be lubricated at least once per day, and in the case of sterilisation, by way of the aerosol can of
"DAILY OIL" using the specific adapters. Follow the directions printed on the aerosol can, with the foresight to apply the
spray in two short shots. After lubrication reattach the turbine on the hose and activate it so as to expel the excess
lubricant (perform this operation with a burr inserted so as to avoid mechanical damage to the instrument), then dry the
outside of the device with gauze or cotton.
Regular use of the spray lubricant insures improved operational conditions for the instrument.
At least once a week lubricate the O-Ring seals found in the handpiece bayonet coupling with S1 silicone lubricating
grease. Wearing disposable gloves, apply a film of grease on the fingertips and lubricate with the fingers.
In the event that the spray is supplied by liquids that potentially leave incrustations, it is recommended that the circuit
be rinsed well with water at the end of each day's use.
The manufacturer requires the annual check or overhaul of the device on the part of authorised service assistance.
CLEANING, DISINFECTION AND STERILISATION
Before sanitisation operations, detach the burr from the turbine and the turbine from the hose.
To maintain a level of hygienic security, at the end of each use and within a short time, clean, disinfect and, if
applicable, sterilise the turbine.
Clean the spray nozzle both using the supplied steel wire, and by blowing air from the syringe.
For cleaning and/or disinfection of the outside of the micromotor, use gauze or cotton soaked in ethyl alcohol 70% v/v.
Sterilisation: steam autoclave at max. 135°C, 220 kPa (2.2 bar) for 5 minutes (250 cycles tested – EN ISO 7785-1).
Before every cycle in the autoclave it is indispensable to lubricate the turbine using the specific "DAILY OIL", spray
lubricant, applying it in two quick shots (see figure). Reassemble the turbine on the hose and activate it so as to expel
the excess lubricant. Dry the outside of the turbine with gauze or cotton wool before proceeding on with sterilisation.
Do not sterilise the bayonet connector.
Do not use ultrasound cleaners.
Do not immerse the turbine in liquid disinfectant or sanitizing solution.
Never sterilise the handpiece in a dry heat steriliser.
Do not leave the turbine in the autoclave, but remove it immediately after the cycle.
Periodically check the autoclave according to the requirements of the manufacturer.
Sterilisation temperatures greater than the indicated limit may damage the device.
Repairs and overhauls
Installation, overhaul, calibration and repair of the device must be performed by technical service personnel authorised
by the manufacturer.
