Use in flight

General

The AXESS 2 AIR should be flown in an upright or slightly reclined at-
titude so that the pilot keeps a good view.
The AXESS 2 AIR has many helpful qualities. If the harness is cor-
rectly set up information from the glider is transmitted directly to the
pilot's centre section. The weight of the upper body up to the shoul-
ders is evenly distributed, pressure points are avoided, blood flow
continues unimpeded, and mental concentration can be sustained
even on long flights.
The AXESS 2 AIR can be made very agile, or strongly damped in
flight. The agility of the harness is set by the chest strap, and this can
be easily adjusted in flight. We recommend that the harness is set
quite damped for the student, as well as when you fly in turbulent air.
This, however, is very much a matter of personal taste, and will al-
ways be up to the pilot and his preferences in the prevailing condi-
tions.

Ground handling

Due to its light weight and the ability to stand upright without restric-
tion ground handling with the AXESS 2 AIR is very straightforward.

Takeoff and landing

The AXESS 2 AIR allows a completely upright stance to be adopt-
ed with exceptional comfort. Taking off and landing turns out to be
very pleasant; freedom of movement is unrestricted and you can eas-
ily make those big steps. Fully open seat board straps make it easy to
slide back after lift off.
