6.1
Cleaning the Interior
• Cartridge bed (14, Fig 1):
With the pressure plates (9, Fig 1) retracted, the cartridge bed is easily accessible for cleaning
• Pressure plates (9, Fig 1) and spindle cover (10, Fig 1):
If the cover is closed and with no installed cartridge, the pressure plates can be retracted to the appro-
priate position to allow residue to be removed from the pressure plates or the spindle covers
NEVER clean the spindles (11, Fig. 1) themselves. The grease applied to spindles is necessary for
the unit's proper function.
Tip:
Remnants of impression material are most easily removed with a dry cloth or paper towel.
In addition to wiping with a moist cloth, the following cleaning agents are approved:
• Incidur Spray (Ecolab)
• Incides N wipes (Ecolab)
Ensure adequate ventilation after using these agents to prevent an explosion-prone area
6.2
Pressure Disc Replacement
The pressure plates (9, Fig 1) are subject to wear as a result of their rubbing against the inner cartridge
wall (20, Fig 1)
Highly worn pressure plates may cause damage the foil bag in the cartridge holder (20, Fig 1)
Moreover, an improperly installed cartridge may cause a crack in the pressure plates
This is why the pressure plates are available as spare parts
The tools required for replacing the parts as well as a description of the steps to take are provided with
the spare part
