The sail sheet course through the
various pulleys is illustrated in
the Figure 25. The sail cord starts
from point 1. It is tighten to the
becket of the pulley attached to
the rear of the boom. Then, it
travels downwards to point 2, to
the pulley installed at the rear of
the frame. Then, it travels
upwards to the pulley at the rear
of the boom again, which is point
4. Then it takes the direction of

point 5, towards the pulley
attached at the front of the boom. It then goes downwards to point 6 to reach the
winch pulley attached to the mast base (pay attention to the winch pulley
orientation as you must hear the rattling* when you pull the sail sheet and do not
hear anything when you free the sheet). Lastly, the sail cord travels upwards to the
point 7 which is the lower pulley at the front of the boom.
N'oubliez pas de régler la hauteur de la têtière pour être le plus bas possible tout
en conservant un minimum de visibilité. Afin d'avoir le centre de gravité le plus bas
possible, il est normal que lorsque la voile est bordée (c'est à dire voile tendue), la
bôme soit contre votre tête juste au-dessus du niveau de vos yeux. Cependant, avec
le vent soufflant, la bôme se placera forcément sur le côté et ainsi ne gênera pas
votre tête, ni lors des virements de bords puisque vous choquerez (lâcherez un
peu), ce qui provoquera une remontée de la bôme.
* Vous pouvez laisser la poulie winch en fonctionnement tout le temps, même par
petit vent l'écoute de voile se relâchera.
Do not forget to adjust the webbing height at the lowest position to keep a good
field of vision. In order to get the center of gravity as low as possible, it is normal
when you haul the sheet taut, the boom nearly touches your head, just above your
eye level. However, when the wind blowing, the boom will turn aside and will not
interfere anymore with your head, neither when you change direction as you loosen
