15 Troubleshooting
In case of any malfunctions not mentioned here, contact your dealer's after-sales service.
Problem
Motor stops starting
Fails to split logs
Log pusher moves jerkily, taking
unfamiliar noise or vibrating a lot
Oil leaks around the cylinder ram or
from other points
The hydraulic pump does not start
Maintenance and repairs
All servicing jobs must be executed by specialized personnel under strict observation of the present operating instruc-
tions. Before every work, every possible caution must be taken: Switch off the motor, disconnect the power
supply (pull the plug, if necessary). Attach a board to the machine explaining the reason for being out of order: "Ma-
chine out of order due to servicing work: Unauthorized people must not come close to the machine or switch it on."

Possible Cause
• Overload protection device
disengaged to protect the log
splitter from being damaged
• Log is improperly positioned
• Size of log exceeds the capacity
of the machine
• Wedge cutting edge is blunt
• Oil leaks
• Lack of hydraulic oil and
excessive air in the hydraulic
system
• Air sealed in hydraulic system
while operating
• Bleed screw is not tightened
before moving the log splitter
• Oil drain bolt is not tight
• Hydraulic control valve assembly
and/or seal(s) worn
• No electric power
• Thermal switch of motor cut off
Remedy
• Contact a qualified Electrician.
• Refer to "operation" section to perfect
log loading
• Reduce log size before operating
• Sharpen cutting edge
• Locate leak(s) and contact your dealer
• Check oil level for possible refilling.
Contact your dealer
• Loosen bleed screw by some rotations
before operating the log splitter
• Tighten bleed screw up before moving
the log splitter
• Tighten the oil drain bolt
• Contact your dealer
• Check cable for electric power
• The thermal circuit breaker will switch
back on after the motor cooled down.
The motor can be restarted.
