Loosen the ventilation screw (12) of the hydraulic oil
tank a couple of turns until the air can flow in and
outwards.
The airflow of the oil tank should be noticeable.
Before moving the wood splitter.
Never forget to loosen the ventilation screw (12)!
Otherwise, the air in the system will constantly
be compressed and decompressed with the re-
sult that the seals of the hydraulic circuit will be
destroyed and the wood splitter can no longer be
used. In this case, the seller and the manufactur-
er will not be liable to warranty services.
The splitting force and speed is regulated via a
2-stage system.
The first stage is for higher speed and lower splitting
pressure to split conventional wood (press the hy-
draulic lever approx. by half).
Press the hydraulic lever completely to the second
stage to reach maximum splitting force and therefore
a lower splitting speed to split freshly cut and hard
wood.
The individual stages can be set very easily by slowly
moving the hydraulic lever forwards and backwards.
Split the wood with the grain. Do not place wood
diagonally for splitting on the kindling splitter.
This can be dangerous and cause severe dam-
age to the machine.
Do not remove jammed logs with your hands.
Never let other people help you when removing
jammed logs.
Piled up, split wood and wood chips can be dan-
gerous. Never work in an untidy working environ-
ment where you can slip, stumble or fall.
Splitting
• If the outside temperature is below 5°C, let the ma-
chine run idle for about 15 minutes so the hydraulic
system reaches its operating temperature.
• m Caution: The splitting blade is very sharp.
Risk of injury!
• Only split straight cut logs.
• Split wood horizontally.
• Wear suitable gloves and safety shoes when split-
ting wood.
• Split very misshapen logs from the edge.
• m Caution: During splitting, some logs can be
under significant tension and suddenly break.
1. Place the log plain onto the work table (3).
2. Secure the pressure plate with the return block as
per the length of the wood to be split (see return
speed limitation).
3. The hydraulic splitter is equipped - according
to the requirements and for your safety - with
two hand control buttons. To activate the split-
ting process, pull the control lever (10) with the
left hand. Depending on the lever position the
pressure plate may be switched slowly or fast.

It is important that the splitting process is always
carried out slowly for safety reasons. At the same
time the left hand presses the lever (10) and the
right hand presses the release button (7) in the
switch box.
Releasing one of the two control elements will
immediately stop the splitting process, releasing
both control elements will abort the splitting pro-
cess.
The pressure plate (2) will then move back into
its home position.
4. Very hard or knotty wood might lead to blocking,
i.e. the log will not be split.
Important: Abort the process within 5 sec to avoid
overloading.
In most cases the log can easily be split after ro-
tating it or turning it over through 180°. Therefore
make sure that you insert the log with the knots
on the side of the pressure plate. This way the
splitting blade can penetrate the log more easily.
Wrongly placed log (Fig. 4)
Always set logs firmly on the log retaining plates and
work table. Make sure logs will not twist, rock or slip
while being split. Do not force the blade by splitting
logs on the upper part. This will break the blade or
damage the machine.
Do not attempt to split 2 pieces of logs at the same
time. One of them may fly up and hit you.
Jammed log (Fig. 5, 6)
Do not try to knock the jammed log off. Knocking
about will damage the machine or may launch the log
and cause accident.
1. Release both controls.
2. After the log pusher moves back and completely
stops at its starting position, insert a wedge wood
under the jammed log as shown in the figure 5.
3. Start the log splitter to push the wedge wood un-
der the jammed one.
4. Repeat above procedure with sharper slope
wedge woods until the log is completely freed.
Hoist limiting, Fig. 1.1
It is reasonable to limit the hoist of the pressure plate
(2) for short splitting material. Thereto press the hy-
draulics lever (10) and the release button (7) and let
the pressure plate (2) move just in front of the splitting
material.
Release the release button now and mount the hoist
limiting ring (13) to the housing and tighten it. After-
wards you can release the hydraulics lever.
The pressure plate will now be resting in the selected
position.
ACCIDENT PREVENTION STANDARDS
1. The machine may only be operated by people
who are well familiar with the contents of this
manual.
