SYMPTOM
Voltage unstable
Response time
too long
KW unbalanced during parallel
operation
No voltage droop
under load (PF=0.8)
KVAR unbalanced between
the alternators
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Frequency unstable (governor)
- Sensing taken on the secondary side of a trans- - Connect the sensing to a separate
former supplying other loads
- P4 or P5 out of adjustment
- Fault in exciter or rotating diode bridge
- Faulty regulator
- P4 or P5 incorrectly adjusted
- Speed regulator response time too long
- Load divider incorrectly adjusted
- Incorrect adjustment of speed regulator voltage
droop
- Voltage droop potentiometer
adjusted to minimum
- CT TI04 does not supply 1A
to its secondary (for In). (if used)
- Pot adjusted to minimum voltage droop
- CT TI04 does not supply 1A to its
- Incorrect wiring of parallel CT
- Incorrect wiring of sensing
- Parallel CT is not on the right phase
SOLUTIONS
- Consult manual for speed adjustment
source
- Adjust P4 and P5
- Check diodes and exciter
- Test or replace
- Adjust P4 or P5
-See manual for speed adjustment
- See engine manual for speed ad justment
- See engine manual for speed adjustment
- Adjust for the desired value
(see paragraph 4.5)
- See paragraph 2.4
