• Remove all accessories from the oven and clean them with warm
soapy water. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents.
• Switch the oven on for an hour at MAX with top and bottom heat
(see pages 14 and 15). Protective greases used during manufacture
are then removed.
• When the oven is heated powerfully for the first time you will notice a
"new smell". This is normal. Switch the cooker hood on if necessary.
• After cooling down, clean the oven with warm water.
• Only preheat the oven if this is stated in the recipe or in the tables
of these instructions.
Energy conscious oven use
• Open the oven door as little as possible.
• Prepare dishes with approximately the same preparation
temperature (e.g. apple pie and an oven dish) at the same time on
the same rack or above one another with a hot air function. It is
also possible to allow meat to stew.
• Prepare several dishes one after the other, an oven meal after a cake
for example. It is often the case that the preparation time of the second
dish will be 10 minutes shorter as the oven still retains lots of heat.
• The oven insulation means that dishes with a longer preparation
time (1 hour and upwards) can cook using the oven's residual heat.
Switch the oven off 10 minutes earlier than indicated but leave the
door closed.
• Preheating is generally not required with the exception of dishes
for which the preparation time is less than 30 minutes or if a recipe
stipulates this.
• Remove everything from the oven which is not necessary for the
preparation.
• Switch the oven off before removing the cooked dish.
Oven utensils
• In principle you can use any type of heat resistant utensil.
• Do not rinse glass utensils under cold water straight after use. The
sudden change in temperature can result in the glass cracking.
• Use dark or black baking tins. These conduct the heat better and
cook the dish more evenly.
