If necessary, clean the surface using suitable
cleansing products.
In the machine versions without a weight-
holding device proceed as follows:
- Select the plane where the first balancing
weight is to be applied.
- Turn the wheel until the central element
of the corresponding position indicator
lights up.
- Apply the adhesive weight manually in
the position in which the relative plane
was measured, using the weight center of
mass as a reference. In this phase, one
display shows the unbalance value of the
side to be balanced and the other shows
the message "H.XX" that indicates the
correct position of application as shown
in Figure 11b.
"Shift planes" programme (avail-
able only with Alu p programmes)
This function is automatically enabled when
an ALU P programme is selected.
It modifies the selected positions for the
application of adhesive weights, so as to
ensure perfect balancing of the wheel
using commercially available adhesive
weights (i.e. multiples of five grams).
The accuracy of the machine is thereby
improved, avoiding rounding off or cutting
the weights to be applied to come closer
to the actual unbalance values.

Hidden weights programme

The modified positions, where the adhesive
weights are to be applied, are identified by
the user according to the information given
by the wheel balancer (see the BALANCING
WEIGHT APPLICATION section).
"HIDDEN WEIGHTS" PROGRAMME
(available only with the ALU P
programme)
This programme divides the outer weight
Pe into two weights P1 and P2 located in
any position chosen by the operator.
The only condition is that the two weights
and the original outer weight Pe must be
within an angle of 120°, as shown in Fig. 16.
The Hidden weights programme may be
used with alloy rims, in conjunction with
the programme ALU 1P or ALU 2P, in the
following situations:
- When you would rather hide the outer
weight behind two spokes for aesthetic
reasons.
To use this programme, proceed as follows:
1 Select either ALU 1 P or ALU 2 P before
starting.
2 Perform the wheel balancing procedure as
described in the chapter "ALU1 P and ALU
2P programmes", but without applying the
outer weight.
