Danger
The gate must be equipped with mechanical opening and closing stops
to prevent the gate from leaving the rail.
They must be firmly fastened a few centimetres above the electrical
stopping points – Fig. 4 letter i

3. INSTALLATION

Attention
The motorisation must be disengaged during installation.

3.1. Assembling the manual release handle

1) Insert the release handle into the specific housing on the motor.
2) Screw in the release handle.
3) Fit the screw guard.

3.2. Unlocking the motorisation - Fig. 5

1) Turn the key a quarter of a turn to the left.
2) Turn the release handle to the right.
Attention
Do not forcibly push the gate. Hold the gate over its entire travel during
manual manoeuvres.

3.3. Installing the motorisation

3.3.1. Installing the mounting system
L
The mounting kit provided is to be used on a concrete base. For all other
types of support, use the appropriate fittings.
1) Position the template:
• parallel to the gate,
• with the symbol on the pinion pointing towards the gate,
• by moving it by 25 mm in relation to the front line of the rack (if the
rack is fitted with a cover, measure from the line on the rack, not
on the cover),
• so that it does not obstruct movement and to ensure the gate is
able to open and close completely.
2) Mark the locations for the ground mountings.
3) Drill to a depth of 60 mm.
4) Push in the coach screws fully.
5) Place a washer and nut onto each coach bolt.
6) Tighten the nuts to secure the coach screws into the ground.
7) Add a nut to each coach bolt and screw them in, to position them 23
mm from the ground.
8) Mount the metal plate onto the nuts.
9) Check that the metal plate is level.
10) Mount the motor onto the metal plate.
11) Check the dimensions indicated in fig. 7 of the installation manual -
illustrations.
5
Designation
- Fig. 6 and 7
12) Add a washer and nut to each coach bolt without tightening them.
3.3.2. Installing the motor
1) Push the motor towards the gate.
2) Ensure the pinion is correctly positioned under the rack.
3) Set the height of the motor and/or the rack to ensure a clearance of
approximately 2 mm between the rack and the pinion.
L
This setting is important to prevent premature wear of the pinion and rack;
the pinion must not be supporting the weight of the gate.
4) Check:
• the adjustment nuts are all in contact with the metal plate,
• the gate runs correctly,
• the clearance between the rack and pinion does not vary signifi-
cantly over the gate's travel.
5) Tighten the nut on each coach bolt to fix the motor in place.
3.3.3. Connecting to the power supply
1) Connect the live (L) to terminal 1 on the motor.
2) Connect the neutral (N) to terminal 2 of the motor.
3) Connect the earth wire to the earth terminal on the base of the mo-
tor.
Attention
The earth wire must always be longer than the live and neutral to en-
sure that it is the last to be disconnected if the connector is pulled out.
The cable clamps supplied must be used.
For all low-voltage cables, ensure that they can withstand traction of
100 N. Check that the conductors do not move when this traction is
applied.
The transformer is wired to terminals 3 and 4. Do not alter the connec-
tions.
Switch on the power to the installation before commissioning.
3.3.4. Determine the direction of rotation of the motor -
Fig. 11
1) Determine the position of the motor on the gate: left or right.
2) Position the switch according to the motor position (left or right).
3.3.5. Setting the end limits - Fig. 12
Attention
To set the end limits:
• Respect a distance of between 5 and 10 mm between the end limit
housing and the end limit unit of the motor,
• Respect the installation direction, L and R, of the magnets. Magnet
L is placed at the very left-hand side of the gate and magnet R is
placed at the very right-hand side of the gate.
1) Open or close the gate to position the right-hand end of the gate in
line with the motor.
2) Install the magnetic end limit R ensuring that the warning light on the
motor block is lit: fasten the calliper then fasten the end limit housing
on the calliper using the screws supplied.
3) Open or close the gate to position the left-hand end of the gate in line
with the motor.
4) Install the magnetic end limit L ensuring that the warning light on the
motor block is lit: fasten the calliper then fasten the end limit housing
on the calliper using the screws supplied.
3.3.6. Before quick commissioning
1) Ensure the rail is clean.
2) Manually move the gate to the intermediate position.
