Storage
Before storing the unit for an extended period:
• Be sure the storage area is free of excessive humidity and dust.
1. Drain the fuel:
Gasoline is flammable and explosive under certain conditions. Do not
smoke or allow flames or sparks near the equipment while draining fuel.
a. Drain the fuel tank.
b. Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position.
c. Loosen the carburetor drain bolt to drain the fuel into a suitable container.
d. Turn the fuel valve to the OPEN position.
e. After draining, tighten the carburetor drain bolt and turn the fuel valve to the
OFF position.

2. Change the engine oil. Replacing the Engine oil should be serviced by your
servicing dealer, unless you have the proper tools mechanically proficient.
3. Clean the air cleaner (see page 38).
4. Pull the starter grip slowly until resistance is felt. At this point, the intake and
exhaust valves are closed and this will help to protect the engine from internal
corrosion.
5. Coat areas that may rust with a light film of oil. Cover the tiller and store it on a
level surface in a dust free area.
