b) Connecting the Drive Battery
Switch on the transmitter and set the trimming of all control functions to the neutral position (middle position). For this,
observe the operating instructions of the remote control system.
Place the boat on a suitable surface (e.g. on the included boat rack) so that the ship's propeller can move freely. Con-
nect the plug connections on the rechargeable battery to the counter-piece of the speed controller.
The speed controller starts to initialise at once. The result of initialisation (test result) will be acoustically signalled with
brief signal sounds. The following signal sounds may occur:
1x short sound + 1x long sound:
The undervoltage recognition is deactivated; the undervoltage recognition must be programmed (see chapter 11). The
speed controller is ready for operation, however.
When using a LiPo drive battery, the undervoltage recognition must be switched on. Otherwise, there may
be deep discharge of the LiPo drive battery, which will damage it.
The undervoltage recognition should only be switched off when using a NiMH drive battery.
2x short sound + 1x long sound:
The undervoltage recognition is programmed. A 2-cell LiPo battery is recognised (via the setting "Auto") or a 2-cell
LiPo battery is programmed (see chapter 11). The long sound signals that the speed controller is ready.
3x short sound + 1x long sound:
The undervoltage recognition is programmed. A 3-cell LiPo battery is recognised (via the setting "Auto") or a 3-cell
LiPo battery is programmed (see chapter 11). The long sound signals that the speed controller is ready.
1x (or 2x or 3x) short sound and then a quick sequence:
The neutral position of the throttle lever or the throttle trim is not correct. In this case, carefully adjust the trim the
speed control at the transmitter (see operating instructions of the remote control), until the warning signal is ended.
You may also need to remove the drive battery for this. It must be reconnected after approx. 10 seconds. When this
measure does not lead to success, the neutral position for the drive function must be programmed. Also observe the
notes in chapter 11.
1x short sound / pause / 1x short sound / pause, etc.:
If the transmitter signal is missing or defective, the speed controller will be in a safety mode (the drive motor is off).
In this case, check the function of the remote control system. Replace the batteries/rechargeable batteries in the
transmitter or perform binding/pairing between the transmitter and receiver (see operating instructions for the remote
control system). Check the connection of the speed controller at the receiver.
