c) Charging the drive battery
Refer to the information in sections 6 and 7. Numerous hazards are associated with improper handling of
the drive battery and the battery charger.
The drive battery supplied is empty when the product is shipped and must be charged. Before the drive
battery can deliver its maximum power, several complete discharge and charge cycles must be completed.
You do not need to discharge partially charged Li-ion batteries before charging. However, to ensure maxi-
mum performance, ensure that the battery is regularly discharged and then fully charged again.
The vehicle comes with a USB charger to charge the drive battery. Use a suitable USB power adapter (not included)
to power the USB charger. This must be able to deliver an output current of at least 1 A.
Do not connect the USB charger to a computer USB port, as these normally deliver a current of less than
1 A.
Proceed as follows:
• Connect the USB plug on the USB charger to the USB power supply (e.g. a USB power adapter).
• Then, connect the 2-pin connector at the end of the USB charger to the socket on the drive battery.
• The LED in the USB charger indicates the charging progress:
LED lights up red: battery is charging
LED is off: battery is full/fully charged
• When the charging process is complete, disconnect the USB charger from the drive battery. It can take around 80
to 90 minutes to charge a fully discharged drive battery.
• Disconnect the USB charger from the power supply.
d) Inserting the drive battery
• Switch the vehicle off. The on/off switch is lo-
cated on the bottom next to the battery com-
partment cover (A).
'ON' = switched on
'OFF' = switched off
• Unscrew the screw from the battery compart-
ment cover on the bottom of the vehicle (B).
The battery compartment cover can then be
removed using the lever (C).
• Connect the drive battery (C) to the vehicle.
The plug connection is located in the battery
compartment and is protected against reverse
polarity. Do not use force when connecting.
• Insert the drive battery into the battery compartment. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it in place
with the screw that you previously removed.
Ensure that the cables are not bent or otherwise damaged.
