e) Inserting the drive rechargeable batteries into the vehicle
Attention!
Do not connect the drive rechargeable batteries to the speed controller yet. First switch on the transmitter,
see chapters 9. c) and 9. d).
This vehicle is only suitable for two identical LiPo drive rechargeable batteries with 2 cells each (nominal
voltage 7.4 V each).
When using a drive rechargeable battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire resulting from the speed
controller overheating. In addition, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and thus damaged (e.g. differen-
tial). This will void the warranty!
The two battery boxes for the drive rechargeable batteries
are on the left and right of the vehicle.
Remove clip (A) of the battery box (B) on the left and right
sides of the vehicle, and then remove the battery compart-
ment cover (C).
Now insert each drive rechargeable battery into the bat-
tery boxes so that the connecting cables (D) of the drive
rechargeable battery point to the left. There is a special
opening for the cables in the battery box so that they are
not squeezed when it is closed.
Replace the battery compartment cover (C) and secure it with the clip (A) removed at the beginning.
f) Connecting the drive rechargeable batteries to the speed controller
Place the vehicle on a suitable base (or a start box) so that the wheels can move freely. This ensures that
you will not lose control of the vehicle if the wheels move suddenly (e.g. if the throttle trim is not set cor-
rectly).
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
First, switch off the speed controller. The on/off switch
must be set to the "OFF" position.
Then power up the transmitter, as described in chapters 9.
c) and 9. d). Be sure to set the trim for both the steering
and driving functions to the middle position.
Now, connect the two fully-charged drive rechargeable
batteries to the speed controller. Pay attention to the cor-
rect polarity. Do not use force when connecting the re-
chargeable battery plugs to the speed controller.
Make sure that the cable cannot get into the vehicle's drive or into the steering mechanism. If necessary, use cable
ties to fasten the cables.
There may be a cracking sound (and a spark in the plug) when connecting the second rechargeable
battery. Here, the input capacitors of the speed controller are charged. This is normal and does not af-
fect the speed controller or the drive rechargeable batteries. Optional accessories include the "anti-spark"
rechargeable battery contacts that prevent sparking.
