9. Commissioning
a) Inserting the Drive Battery
Lift the hull deck off as described in chapter 8. The drive battery is placed on the wood board glued in and attached
with hook-and-loop tapes (figure 6, item 1).
Observe tight fit of the rechargeable battery. We recommend that the battery be attached to the wood
board with an additional strip of hook-and-loop tape, rather than only those present.
b) Connecting the Drive Battery
Switch on the transmitter and set the trimming of all control functions to the centre position. Observe the information
and instructions in the operating instructions of the remote control.
Place the boat on a suitable surface (e.g. on the included boat rack) so that the ship's propeller can move freely.
Connect the plug connections on the rechargeable battery to the counter-piece of the control electronics (figure 6, item
2).
The speed controller starts to initialise at once. When everything is just right, this is indicated with brief signal sounds
(2 beeps, break, 2 beeps). The speed controller is now ready for operation.
If successful initialisation is not reported acoustically, the speed controller is not ready for operation either.
In this case, carefully adjust the speed control trimming at the transmitter (see operating instructions of the
remote control) until the sound signal (2 beeps) are issued.
This may also require unplugging a drive battery for 10 seconds, so that the speed controller can re-
initialise.
When this measure does not lead to success, the „neutral position for the throttle function" must be
programmed. Also observe the notes in chapter „Programming the speed controller". If the transmitter
signal is missing or defective, the speed controller is in a safety mode (drive motor locked) and signals this
by a sequence of sounds (beep, break, beep, break, etc.).
