2. Understanding The Pumping Station

2.1. Main Features

Turbomolecular Drag Pumping Station TSD 022
1 High vacuum flange
2 Electronic drive unit
Pumping stations are ready for connection and are fully auto-
matic operating pumping units.
The integrated pumping station control unit (TCS) controls
and monitors the process and operates in conjunction with
the electronic drive unit (TCP).
Cooling
Standard: Air cooling (up to an ambient temperature
of 35 °C)
Alternative: Water cooling (on request)
Proper Use
– Turbomolecular Pumping Stations may only be used for the
purpose of generating vacuum.
– Turbomolecular Pumping Stations may only be operated in
the prescribed configuration.
Improper Use
Certain types of use are regarded as improper, e.g.
– Pumping corrosive or explosive gases.
– Operating the pumping station where explosive processes
are involved.
– Using accessories not named in this manual and/or not
authorised by the manufacturer.
Improper use will cause any rights regarding liability and
guarantees to be forfeited.
