MEASUREMENTS
Fig. 16. Connection of test leads and tested machine via T-distributor
• Switch on (or connect mains plug to mains outlet), Machine Power ON
lamp goes "on" as soon as stable AC or DC voltage (higher than 60 V DC
or peak AC) is detected at test terminals.
• Pull out mains plug of tested machine (measurement at plug terminals) or
switch off mains switch (measurement inside the machine) and wait for
result to be displayed (red or green control lamp). Green colour means
the level of measured residual voltage is below 60 V DC ⇒ OK while red
one means the level is above 60 V DC ⇒ not OK.
• Valid for non-linear mode only: Repeat the measurement at least 15 times
- see explanation under "Measurement principle". If none of test results is
above prescribed limit value (always green lamp) the machine can be
considered as to pass the test.
• Write down the test result (OK or not OK).
Notes!
• Linear mode only: If mains voltage is interrupted at too low value (impossible to scale
test result), then the tester requires another measurement flashing green Result lamp!
• If already detected stable mains voltage present at test terminals (green Machine
Power on lamp lights) changes for more than 10%, then the Machine Power on lamp
starts to flash until a new stable voltage is detected!
• Make sure always to take the first test result (displayed within 1s / 5s after mains
voltage disconnection). It might happen at extremely high capacitances (slow voltage
discharge) that the measurement will be started again automatically after completion
the first one. Then a further not valid test result could be displayed.
