Total capacitance C
(parallel connection of all capacitors)
To avoid tripping out test voltage, tripping current at the instrument
shall be set to the closest value above estimated test current.
STEP 2
Prepare the instrument
Place it into such position that both test points of tested object will be
-
reachable by the test tips (take into account the 2 m long test leads) or
use optional test lead extensions.
Connect the instrument to mains voltage via mains cord.

Connect test leads to test terminals of the instrument.

Set rotary switch to HV position.
-
Switch on the instrument, initial display state is present (- - -).

STEP 3
Carry out the test
Press the START/STOP key to start the measurement

Contact one test prod to PE terminal
Contact with the second test prod the shorted live terminals and wait for
-
at least 1s (see figure below)
Remove test prods
-
-
Press the START/STOP key again to stop the measurement.
Write down the test result (OK or breakdown).
