NOTE: The brush, solution and drive will start when
the control grips are rotated forward.
FIG. 10
6. To operate the machine in reverse, simply rotate
the control grips backwards. The brush base will
automatically lift off the floor when reversing.
7. To stop the machine, position the machine on a
level surface and gradually release the control
grips.
8. After cleaning, perform the Daily Maintenance
procedures (See MACHINE MAINTENANCE).
WHILE OPERATING MACHINE
WARNING: Do Not Pick Up Flammable
Materials Or Reactive Metals.
WARNING: Do Not Use Flammable Liquids Or
Operate Machine In Or Near Flammable Liquids,
Vapors Or Combustible Dusts.
This machine is not equipped with an explosion
proof motors. The electric motors will spark upon
start up and during operation which could cause a
flash fire or explosion if machine is used in an
area where flammable vapors/liquids or
combustible dusts are present.
1. Overlap each cleaning path by 50 mm (2 in).
2. Use a collapsing rectangle pattern when cleaning
large rooms (Figure 11).

Tennant 1530 (12- 02)
3. Periodically observe the recovery tank for
excessive foam buildup. Pour a recommended
foam control solution into the recovery tank to
breakdown foam.
ATTENTION: Do not allow foam or water to enter
float shut-off screen, vacuum motor damage will
result; not covered by warranty. Foam will not
activate the float shut-off screen.
4. For excessive heavily soiled areas, use the double
scrub switch function (Brush/Solution symbols).
5. If the cleaning path leaves streaks, clean or
replace the spray tips (See MACHINE
MAINTENANCE).
6. When cleaning on inclines, always clean moving
downward, never upward. Never climb inclines
that exceed 5 degrees, machine damage may
occur.
FOR SAFETY: When using machine, go slow on
inclines and slippery surfaces.
7. Observe the clear hose at the rear of the machine
for remaining solution (Figure 12). The hose has
15 liter increment markings printed on it. 15 liters
of solution will last approximately 4 minutes. When
the solution tank runs dry, put the machine in the
travel mode, turn the key off, unplug the power
cord and push to the dumping site.

8. Work away from the wall outlet and power cord to
prevent cord damage.
FOR SAFETY: When using machine, do not run
machine over cord, do not pull machine by plug
or cord, do not pull cord around sharp edges or
corners, do not unplug by pulling on cord and do
not handle plug with wet hands.
