Maintenance of paint level

WARNING
Do not clean or wipe piston valve 14 threads.
Cleaning the piston valve threads could destroy the
special sealing patch and cause the piston valve to
come loose during operation.

Unscrew the outlet valve seat from the piston rod.
Clean and inspect parts. The piston has a special
thread with a locking/sealing patch. Do not remove
the patch. The patch allows for disassembly/assembly
procedures before it is necessary to apply Loctite® to
the threads.

Remove packing and glands from piston rod. Note
sequence for later installation.

Remove throat packings and glands from cylinder.
Discard throat packings and glands.
REASSEMBLY OF THE PAINT LEVEL
WARNING
WARNING:
CAUTION: If pin 28 works loose, parts could break off
and project through the air, resulting in serious injury
or damage to property. Make sure pin is properly
installed.
WARNING:
If the pump lock nut loosens during operation, the
threads of the bearing housing and drive train will be
damaged. Tighten lock nut as specified.
1. Figure 12
Screw lock nut 29 to the end of the cylinder thread
30. Screw pump completely into manifold. Screw
pump in until pump outlet coincides with the edge of
the manifold. Hand tighten lock nut, then tap 1/8 to
1/4 turns with hammer.

Slowly rotate engine starter until pump rod pin hole is
aligned with hydraulic rod hole. Push pin 28 into bore
hole. Push retaining ring 27 into groove.

Fill some piston oil into the packing gland.
