Prior to fi rst use
Before you can use the device, you must:
• unpack the product contents,
• clean the device and the plates.

Unpacking the product contents

ATTENTION!
❐ Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
Unpack all parts and make sure that the scope of delivery is complete (see chapter
"Device overview and scope of delivery") and check for any damages from transport.
If you identify damages to the components, do not use them (!), instead contact the
customer service department.

Cleaning the device and plates

ATTENTION!
❐ There may be some production residues stuck to the device. To avoid health risks,
clean the individual plates thoroughly before fi rst use.
❐ Never submerge the device in water or other liquids! Make sure that the device, the
mains cord or the mains plug can not fall in water or are at risk of getting wet.
❐ The plates are not suitable for the dishwasher.
❐ Do not use any abrasive or scouring cleaners or cleaning pads to clean the device
and the plates. They could damage the device and plates.
1. Wipe off the device with a damp, soft cloth and dry it with a soft cloth afterwards.
2. Clean the plates with warm water and a mild detergent. Then dry them off completely
with a soft cloth.
3. Before preparing meals on the plates for the fi rst time, you should turn the device on
and let it operate without contents for a few minutes (but with the plates inserted!)
in order to remove any production residue with heat. This may produce odour(s) and
smoke. This is not a malfunction and is normal when using the device for the fi rst time.
You must repeat this process with all plate pairs when using them for the fi rst time!

Inserting and changing the plates

ATTENTION!
❐ Make sure that the device is not connected to a socket when inserting or changing
the plates.
❐ Make sure that the device and the plates have cooled off completely before you take
the plates out of the device or exchange them with another pair of plates.
