a) Weather forecast
The weather forecast of the weather station is one of the most interesting features. Although the weather station
cannot replace the professional weather forecast by highly-qualitied meteorologists in radio, TV or Internet, it is
amazing that an accuracy of about 70% is reached only by the reading and observation of the air pressure of the
previous days.
During initial operation the latest weather situation should be entered in the setup menu of the weather
station in order to obtain a more exact display of the weather symbols.
Sunny
Partly cloudy
Cloudy
Precipitation
Thunderstorm/storm
• The symbols indicate a weather improvement or worsening which however, does not necessarily mean (as
indicated by the symbol) sun or rain.
If the current weather is cloudy for example, and rain is displayed, this does not indicate a device failure but it
indicates that the air pressure has decreased and a weather deterioration can be expected, which does not
necessarily imply that it will rain.
• After the initial start-up the weather forecasts for the first 12 to 24 hours should not be taken into account since the
weather station first has to collect air pressure data on a constant height above sea level during this period in order
to provide a more exact forecast.
• If the weather station is brought to a location which is considerably higher or lower than the original location (e.g.
from the ground floor to the upper floors of a house), the weather station might detect this as a weather change.
We would like to give you some more explanations on the
symbols and their meaning:
• If "Sunny" is displayed this means the night will be starlit.
• The display does not show the current meteorological conditions
but it is a forecast for the next 12 to 24 hours.
• The calculation of the weather forecast only on the basis of the air
pressure results in a maximum accuracy of about 70% only.
Therefore, the actual weather might be totally different on the next
day. Since the measured air pressure only applies to an area with
a diameter of approx. 50 km, the weather might change rapidly.
This particularly applies to mountains and high mountains.
Thus, do not depend on the weather forecast of the weather
station but get information on site if you e.g. want to do a hike in the
mountains.
• In the event of sudden and bigger air pressure fluctuations the
display symbols are updated to show the weather change. If the
display symbols do not change, either the air pressure has not
changed or the change has occured so slowly that the weather
station was not able to detect and register them.
• If the weather forecast shows "Sunny" or "Precipitation", the
display does not change even if the weather improves (display
"Sunny") or worsens (display "Precipitation") because the display
symbols already show the two extreme conditions.
