The outdoor sensor transmits the measured data for temperature and air humidity approx. every 25
seconds.
You may also activate the transmission of the measured data manually by pressing the "TX" key (18)
if you have opened the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor (also directly after insertion of the
batteries, a data package with the measured values will be sent).
The range of the outdoor sensor's sending signal is up to 30 m with direct intervisibility and without
perturbations. This range is considerably reduced by the proximity to electrical devices, metal parts,
cables and also walls, trees, metallised insulating glass windows and so on.
If the weather station does not find the outdoor sensor, you should place the outdoor sensor near the
weather station for test purposes (keep minimum distance of 0.5 m).
After these 4 minutes the weather station starts the DCF reception. If no outdoor sensors were found until now, you
can start a manual search for the sensors later on in the setup menu of the weather station.
For the DCF reception the weather station has to turn off the display; a corresponding text message in the
display indicates this: "Start radio-controlled clock reception now? (Display will turn off for 10 minutes during
reception)".
With the arrow keys " " or " " select the " " button on the weather station or IR remote control and confirm the
selection with the "ENTER" key.
Following that, the display of the weather station will be turned off.
This helps to avoid interferences during the reception attempt of the DCF signal through the display
illumination and display electronics.
Do not move the weather station during that time; do not press any buttons on the weather station or
IR remote control! Furthermore, observe the information on the DCF reception in chapter 9. a).
• After approx. 10 minutes the display is automatically reactivated.
• If the radio tower symbol "
attempt was successful.
Otherwise, a new reception attempt can be started in the setup menu, see chapter 15. k).
• The weather station may be mounted on a stable, even surface using a foot (6). Simply put the foot in the respective
openings (2) on the rear side of the weather station.
Alternatively, the weather station can be suspended on wall using a screw, hook or a nail.
Select a mounting or installation site which is not directly exposed to sunlight (corruption of measuring values of
the temperature/air humidity measurement). Keep sufficient distance to heaters too.
In order to have a good radio reception, the weather station should be placed as far as possible from electronic
devices, metal parts, cables or the like.
Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using an appropriate underlay otherwise scratch marks can occur.
• The start-up of the weather station and outdoor sensor is now completed.
• For further description of the functions please observe the following sections of this operating manual.
