1.3.1. The load
must not be left suspended without supervision,
must not be allowed to swing
must not fall into the wire rope
must not be operated in areas which cannot be overlooked. It must be possible to overlook the entire
lifting area.
1.3.2. The rope
should only be rolled in one layer on a grooved drum
should only be used for lifting and lowering of various loads and must not be used for
any other purpose
in lowest position at least 3 full turns of rope should remain on the drum when loaded
lateral rope deflection angle (see picture)
for standard wire rope ≤3°,
for special rope ≤1,5°
examine and service regularly according to DIN 15020 page 2
do not touch the rope inlet
only handle with safety gloves
slowly position the slack rope to the load
only cables with test certificate 2.2 DIN EN 10204 may be used
1.3.3. The winch
Do not exceed the capacity of each rope layer.
Before taking into operation, an expert must check:
the lifting device
overload safety device
the load bearing parts of the structure
the carrying medium
mounting
1.3.4. Electric parts
The electric connection or repair on electric parts may only be executed by trained experts.
Observe the safety regulations and standards of electrical engineering.
In control integrated maintenance functions (see page 35) may only be executed by competent per-
sons.
Works on the electric installation may only be executed with cleared power supply.
1.4 Daily examinations
functional switch UP - DOWN
limit switch (travel limiting and emergency limit switch)
Emergency stop
main switch
El. overload safety device (if existing).
1.5 Load attachment device:
check it has sufficient carrying capacity
load hooks must have safety catches
load hooks must be secured to the rope with a solid eye
and high pressure rope clamp and tested acc. to the
regulations
fix the load correctly
do not use the winch rope as a hitching device
