Using the BLANK bleaching lamp, polymerize with a 20‐second irradiation
treatment.
3. Apply a layer of whitening gel () to the teeth to be treated. Spread it on evenly
and avoid using more than necessary.
Warning:
when you use the syringes with nozzle, the presence of air trapped in the syringe
could cause the gel to come out in an uncontrolled manner.
(To make this procedure easier, rotate the plunger as you measure out the
required quantity).
Be very careful to move the plunger very gradually, or place the gel on a suitable
surface and then spread it on with a special brush. In this way, you can spread the
gel correctly and handle the material better.
4. Both patient and operator must put on the special glasses provided, and then
arrange the lamp so that the LED head is next to the patient's mouth at a distance
of not more than 10 cm.
Use the buttons situated on the control panel to set the treatment time and start
the treatment (for treatment times, see next chapter).
During the treatment, the patient should be checked and assisted to verify his/her
comfort and state of well‐being.
5. At the end of treatment, the whitening gel must be removed by the dentist
with the help of an assistant, who must take care to avoid letting it fall on the
patient's exposed mucous membranes.
Remove the polymerized dam and make the patient rinse his/her mouth.
6. If the patient has a marked dental sensitivity, spread a phial of DESENS
(potassium nitrate) over the treated teeth with the special brush.
7. At the end, the results are assessed and the patient should be given
information on post‐treatment behaviour (avoid drinking coffee, chocolate,
substances containing tannin and eating hot food or drinking hot drinks for at
least 72 hours).
The maximum achievement of whitening should be assessed 10‐15 days after the
treatment.
