ETS 3000 IO-Link
4 Installation
The ETS 3000 with integral sensor probe can be screwed directly into a hydraulic block via
the male thread (G1/2 A ISO 1179-2 , (DIN 3852)). The temperature sensor is built into the
stem before the thread. To obtain an accurate temperature reading this stem must be
immersed in the flow of fluid.
The ETS 3000 with external sensor probe is wall mounted using the clamp, which available
as an accessory (see section 17.2 Mechanical Accessories).
To ensure optimum positioning, the unit can be rotated 340° about its long axis, and the
display and keypad can be rotated through 270°.
The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician according to the
relevant regulations of the country concerned (VDE 0100 in Germany). At the same time,
the temperature sensor housing must be correctly grounded. When fitted into a hydraulic
block, earthing the block via the hydraulic system is sufficient. When installing on a wall, the
housing must be earthed separately (e.g. with a screened cable).
Caution
When installing the ETS 3000 with an integral sensor probe, a suitable spanner
(AF 27) must be used on the hexagonal nut of the pressure port.
Inappropriate installation methods, such as manually fitting above the housing
can damage the housing or even cause the device to fail completely, due to the
rotatability of the ETS 3000.
Additional installation suggestions which, from experience, reduce the effect of
electromagnetic interference:
• Make line connections as short as possible
• Use shielded lines (e.g. LIYCY 4 x 0.5 mm²)
• The cable screening must be fitted by qualified personnel subject to the ambient
conditions and with the aim of suppressing interference.
• Keep the unit well away from the electrical supply lines of power equipment, as well
as from any electrical or electronic equipment causing interference.
