6.3
Cleaning the steam distributor
1. Comply with the safety instructions in "Section 6.1" page 70.
2. Remove the steam distributor 3 to clean thoroughly.
6.3.1 Removing the steam distributor
3. Comply with the safety instructions in "Section 6.1" page 70.
4. Pull out the steam distributor 3 from the mount 1 and disengage.
5. Turn the steam distributor 3 to the edge of the steam dome 4.
6. Carefully guide the endpiece of the steam distributor 5 over the
edge of the steam dome 4 and remove the steam distributor 3.
7. Clean the steam distributor 3 with a soft brush and rinse well.
6.3.2 Checking the seals
1. Check seals 6/7 for cracks or damage.
If you detect any dirt or damage, clean the seals 6/7 as described in
•
"Section 6.7.2" page 74 and replace them, if necessary.
2. Check that seals 6/7 are securely in place:
the 2 round seals 6 must fit in the grooves.

The small opening of the seal 7 must be placed against the steam
–
distributor 3. The large opening must point away from the steam
distributor 3.
6.3.3 Fitting the steam distributor
While fitting, make sure that the steam outlet nozzles of the steam
distributor 3 face downwards. The two pins 3 should then fit exactly in-
to the guideways 4.
Risk of scalding
• If the steam distributor 3 has not been fitted, hot steam
will escape during operation.
• The steam distributor 3 must be fitted properly before
treatment can begin!
For the proper fitting of the steam distributor 3, proceed as follows:
1. Insert the steam distributor 3 into the steam dome 4.
2. Carefully guide the endpiece of the steam distributor 5 over the
edge of the steam dome 4.
3. Turn the steam distributor 3 horizontally and insert it as far as it
will go into the mount 1.
The pins 2 of the steam distributor 3 must fit in the two guideways

Water leaking from the steam distributor 3
• If the steam distributor 3 is incorrectly inserted or not
placed as far as it will go, water may leak from the steam
distributor 3.
4. Check that the steam distributor 3 is securely in place before begin-
ning treatment.
