• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user mainte-
nance (see chapter "Maintenance by the User") shall not be made by
children without supervision.
• Before treatment with the appliance, do not apply ointments designed
to stimulate the blood circulation or similar products, as the heat
given off by the appliance will increase the effect of such products.
• Aromas and additives may not be used. Aromas and additives may
have an adverse effect on the treatment result, possibly even damage
health or escape from the steam distributor 3 as hot liquid or foam.
• During a treatment, the hair must not be covered by a cloth, cap, film
or aluminium foil.
• The appliance must not be operated without the steam dome 4 and
the steam distributor 3.
• The appliance must not be covered by towels or similar items.
• Do not treat the face or other parts of the body.
• Do not treat animals.
• The appliance may not be used to heat up food.
• The appliance may only be mounted on the pedestal tube h type
ST5 and the pedestal base g type ST5.
• The appliance may not be used with the old Wella pedestal type ST3
under any circumstances. The appliance may fall off the pedestal type
ST3 during use and injure the customer being treated.
• The appliance may only be mounted on the wall arm z Acrobat
2004 type WA04/75 or WA04/95. The wall arm z may only be
mounted on a wall bracket B type WL04 that has been installed as
described in the currently valid installation instructions.
2.2

Safety components

• The steam temperature is monitored. The water boiler 6 heating will
switch off automatically if the temperature rises too far. The appliance
will show the error message E4 in the display q.
• When the cover 5 is opened, the heating of the water boiler 6
switches off to stop further production of steam.
• An overheat protection switch in the water boiler 6 switches off the
heating of the water boiler 6 if there is insufficient water or the
boiler
temperature limit is exceeded. The appliance will show the error mes-
sage E0 in the display q.
