5.3 Position the headgear (7) comfortably on the child's head
and adjust all the straps, starting from the lower ones, as shown
in Fig. C3.
5.4 Connect the swivel fitting (5) to the respiratory circuit of the
ventilation unit as shown in figure C4. The child will be more
reassured and will accept the treatment more readily if the mask
is placed correctly before starting the ventilation unit. Switch on
the ventilation unit.
5.5 For optimal airtightness, and to remove any accidental
leakage around the bubble, the headgear may need to be
adjusted. To do so, gently tighten or loosen the straps starting
with the lower straps. Ensure the mask is attached securely to
the child's face without the straps being too tight.
N.B. The lower straps only serve to hold the mask in position, so
they must be kept fairly loose.
6 - HOW TO REMOVE THE MASK
To remove the mask, unhook one of the two hooks (8).
Lift the headgear over the child's head and remove the mask
from the child's nose.
It is not necessary to loosen or undo the other straps (Velcro)
from the headgear.
7 - HOW TO DISSAMBLE THE MASK (Fig. D)
7.1 Unfasten and pull out the straps, as shown in Fig. D1, then
detach the headgear (7) from the main body (a).
7.2 Detach the tube assembly (b) by pulling the elbow fitting (3)
out of the main body (a), as shown in Fig. D2.
8 - HOW TO CLEAN THE MASK
8.1 – DAILY CLEANING FOR REUSE BY THE SAME PATIENT
It is recommended to clean the main body daily (a) and the
ENGLISH
headgear (7) and hooks (8) once a week.
First wash your hands thoroughly.
Disassemble all the components (see HOW TO DISASSEMBLE
THE MASK) and wash carefully in warm water at about 30°C,
using mild soap. Rinse thoroughly under the tap and leave in the
air to dry, but not in direct sunlight.
8.2 – REPROCESSING THE MASK FOR RE-USE WITH
OTHER PATIENTS
N.B. The mask must always be regenerated before being used
by another patient.
N.B. The headgear (c) must be replaced each time.
N.B. In case of thermal disinfection and autoclave sterilization,
the tube assembly (b) must be replaced.
The mask can be regenerated up to 12 times, using one of the
following methods:
• high-level thermal disinfection;
• high-level chemical disinfection;
• sterilisation in an autoclave at 121°C for no more than 20
minutes;
Full details of the mask regeneration process can be obtained
by logging on to www.device.airliquidehealthcare.com or by
contacting your dealer.
9 - PRECAUTIONS
Do not clean the mask with solutions containing alcohol, aromatic
compounds, humidifiers, antibacterial agents or aromatic oils as
they would damage the product and reduce its life.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat may damage
the mask.
