MECHANICAL TRANSMISSION
– engage the parking brake;
HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION
– put the drive release lever into the «EN-
GAGED» position (Fig. 4.2 no. 23), since it is
necessary for the parking brake to be disen-
gaged to ensure that the speed change lever
has enough movement;
– r emove the grass catcher;
– u nscrew the lever knob (3) and shift the lever to
the «R» position;
– o pen the access hatch (4) and unscrew the fas-
tener nut (5) using a 13 mm key;
– r elease the lever (6) so that the cutting-means
assembly rests on the shims and keep it
moved to the side so that no stop notches are
engaged; now grasp the bottom of the seat (7)
and tip the cover backwards.
To close it again:
– c heck that the collector channel (8) is securely
positioned on the support (9) resting on the
right hand side;
– m ove the lever (3) to the «R» position and lower
the cover (1) to the same level as the levers (3)
and (6);
– i nsert lever (6) and then lever (3) in their seat,

and lower the cover until it is aligned with the
fastener screw.
WARNING!
With the cover (1) lowered,
check that:
– the collector channel (8) opening fits inside
the rear discharge opening (10) and is rest-
ing correctly on the support (11).
Next:
– f ully tighten the fastener nut (5);
– m ove the lever (6) to position «7» engaging it in
the relative stop notch;
– r emove the shims (2), replace the lever knob (3)
and the hatch (4).
6.3 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
