e) Storing batteries ("STORAGE")
This function can be used to set the battery to a certain voltage level, which is regarded as ideal for stor-
age (LiPo = 3.85V, LiIon = 3.75V, LiFe = 3.3V).
Depending on the cell voltage, the battery is either charged or discharged. Of course, with a multi-cell
battery pack, this is only wise if a balancer connection is available.
The procedure of setting the current and the voltage/cell count is the same as with the normal charge
process (see chapter 10. b).
The set current is used for charging/discharging.
f) Discharging batteries ("DISCHARGE")
Normally, it is not necessary to discharge lithium batteries (contrary to NiCd batteries). The battery can
be charged immediately, independent of its current status.
If you still want to discharge such a battery, you can set the discharge current between 0.1A and 1.0A.
Proceed as described in chapter 10. b) with the only difference being, that the battery is not charged but
discharged.
The final discharge voltage differs depending on the set battery type and already preset in the charger.
In addition to the battery type, the display shows the associated voltage.
• LiPo: 3.0V per cell
• LiIon: 2.5V per cell
• LiFe: 2.0V per cell
If a multi-cell battery is connected via the balancer connections, you can switch
between the normal display and the display of the cell voltages during the discharge
process using the "INC" button.
