The used memory card should be empty (or there must be enough space). Only FAT/FAT32 file format (no
NTFS) is acceptable. Before any recordings are saved on the memory card, it is recommended to format it
using the corresponding function in the menu. However, all existing data will be lost after formatting.
It is important that the SD memory card used complies with at least "Class 4" (or higher). Memory cards
of this class allow a write speed of at least 4 Mbps and are essential for proper function when recording
surveillance videos. Make sure that the memory card write protection is disabled.
The data carrier cannot be changed when the monitor/DVR is in operation. Neither recording nor playback
is allowed. Failure to observe this can damage the data carrier's file system, whereby existing recordings
will be permanently lost.
c) Power adapter
• Insert a single round plug of the included power adapter into the socket of the included Y-cable for voltage/power
supply.
• Three Y-cable round plugs must be connected to the cameras and the monitor/DVR with two connection cables.
• Plug the power adapter into a standard mains socket connected to the public supply grid. The power LED (12) lights
up. The image of camera 1 should appear on the screen.
d) Inserting batteries into the IR remote control / replacing the batteries
The battery (1x CR2025) may be pre-inserted in the battery compartment. In this case, you may have
to pull a small transparent protective film out of the battery compartment. It protects the battery against
premature discharge.
• To insert/change a battery, unlock a small locking clip on the battery compartment with a flat screwdriver and then
remove the battery holder.
• Place the battery in the battery holder, observing the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-). The plus pole of the
battery and the battery holder is marked with the symbol "+"; both markings must face the bottom of the IR remote
control.
• Put the battery holder back into the IR remote control, observing the correct orientation (plus pole should face the
bottom of the IR remote control), do not use force!
• Dispose of the old, empty battery in an environmentally-friendly manner (see "Disposal").
Replace the battery if the range of the IR remote control drops, or if the monitor/DVR does not respond to
the IR remote control.
