Programing the Speed Controller
The speed controller is already perfectly adjusted to the motor ex works. For this
reason, we recommend that the ex-works programming not be changed.
Programming takes place via sound signals generated by brief triggering of the
electric motor rather than a speaker.
a) Setting Options of the Speed Controller
Note on function 1, battery type/shut-down:
For a Lipo battery (2 to 4 cells), the speed controller reduces the motor speed strongly when a
voltage of 3.0 V per cell is reached (in a 3-cell LiPo battery, this takes place at 9.0 V). In
function 4 („Control characteristics of the throttle function"), motor shut-down can be set instead
of reduction of speed for LiPo batteries.
Recognition of the battery type is automatically performed by the speed controller. A prerequisite
for this is a fully charged battery.
Function 1 „Battery type/shut-down" will issue additional signal sounds with two to
six beeps after the first setting version „NiMH/LiPo". They have no function or
meaning in this speed controller. Always programme the speed controller to
„NiMH/LiPo" (1 beep) for function 1.
Note on function 2, control:
For the setting „Automatic on", the best neutral position is found independently after the battery
voltage is applied.
Select „fixed control range" to specify the throttle control signal as 1.1. ms to 1.8 ms. This is
necessary if you are working with a regular console transmitter and want to influence the
motor speed for „forward" with the entire control range of the control lever.
The setting „fast reaction" means that the position change at the transmitter towards throttle is
directly passed on to the speed controller (hard control characteristics).
The setting „slow reaction" means that the position change at the transmitter towards throttle
is passed on to the speed controller with a delay (soft control characteristics).
The settings „fast reaction" and „slow reaction" can be programmed additionally as a further
submenu of the programme item „control path". First select the programme point „control
range" and complete programming. At repeated selection of function 2, you may programme
the settings „fast reaction" or „slow reaction".
