Installation
WARNING
The in-line dampeners must be accessible any time for operation and maintenance -
accesses may not be hindered or blocked!
CAUTION
• Please carefully read the operating instructions before starting any installation work or
commissioning!
• Install the in-line dampeners according to the existing regulations (e.g. on pressure vessels)!
• First verify that the in-line dampener matches the stroke volume of the metering pump!
(see Chap. 2, Table) 1)
• The in-line dampeners may still contain residual water resulting from the test at the facility!
Remove any water from the in-line dampener and rinse with a suitable medium if you are using
metering media which may not come into contact with water!
• The in-line dampeners may not be used with metering media which attack the material
®
(see the ProMinent
resistance list in the new product catalogue or www.prominent.com)!
• Protect the in-line dampener against direct exposure to the sun and other UV sources!
• Install the in-line dampener as close as possible to the metering pump!
• When installing using a T-piece, screw the blanking connection onto the free side of the in-line
dampener such that it is liquid-tight!
• In-line dampeners only function effectively given a certain and stable backpressure. Thus, install a
pressure-retaining valve or a metering valve in case of low or fluctuating backpressure!
• Provide for a connection port for a manometer close to the in-line dampener to check the pressure
situation within the line system!
• Install a shut-off valve and a relief valve to be able to depressurise the in-line dampener.
• Route the relief valve into the store tank or another suitable and ventilated container.
• If necessary, install an overflow valve to protect the in-line dampener against bursting in case of
defects.
• Avoid vibrations! Install the in-line dampener firmly using the wall bracket! Insert the wall bracket
into the groove at the housing (see dimension drawing in the annex).
• Connect pipings to the in-line dampener such that no forces act between them such as e.g.
because of displacement, weight or elongation of the line!
• The connection size of the in-line dampener should match the connection size of the piping, if
possible! These sizes may deviate by one nominal width at the most!
NOTE
• Provide two matching union nuts with hose grommet and crimp ring (for M20x1.5) or inserts with
pipe (for G3/4) for connection.
• When installing using a T-piece, provide a blanking connection to close one side of the in-line
dampener (see Chap. 14 "Accessories").
• In order to prevent unnecessary performance losses, route the metering line in a straight way and
with the nominal connection width of the in-line dampener.
Screw the wall bracket to a stable support – do not forget the washer!
Install the in-line dampener into the metering line.
Fix the in-line dampener with the wall bracket. The in-line dampener and the lines may not vibrate!
