• The in-line dampeners are only suitable for the stroke volumes set out in table 1!
• The in-line dampeners may not be used with metering media which attack their material
(see ProMinent
®
resistance list in the new product catalogue or under www.prominent.com)!
• The in-line dampeners may not be installed in suction lines!
• The system may only be operated by specially trained and authorised personnel!
• The personnel is obliged to observe the information in the operating instructions on the various life phases
of the system (such as assembly, installation, ...)!
• The personnel must have read and understood the operating instructions!

Storage and transport
CAUTION
• Protect the in-dampener against freezing!
• Protect the in-line dampener against direct exposure to the sun and other UV sources!
• Before storing or transporting, the in-line dampener must be emptied (metering medium?,
protective equipment?)! Observe the safety data sheets of the metering media!
• Close the openings to prevent foreign particles from getting into the in-line dampener!
Storage and transport temperature: 0 ... 60°C (frost-protected)
Scope of delivery: In-line dampener, wall bracket, bag with installation material (screw and washer for wall
bracket, 2 O-rings for connections, plug for manometer hole)

Fig. 1: Section through the in-line dampener (here still without gas cushion)
The in-line dampener smoothes the pressure course in a line as follows: The gas cushion between the
housing (1) and the hose diaphragm (2) is compressed at a pressure stroke of the metering pump, a partial
quantity of the metering medium being simultaneously metered into the in-line dampener. The compressed
gas cushion causes the stored partial quantity of the metering medium to be delivered during the following
suction stroke. Subsequently, the original, uncompressed gas cushion is available again for the next cycle.
