Wireless Technology and Communication:
•
The Endosee supports wireless standards of IEEE
802.11 a/b/g/n with a range of at least 10 feet. It
can only connect to devices supporting WPA2-PSK
AES protocol. It uses this to establish its own
encrypted network and cannot connect to a local net
work or the internet. Because it cannot connect to
external networks and does not contain removable
media, the only cybersecurity responsibility imposed
on the end user is limited to ensuring proper Endosee
network password handling.
•
The Endosee wireless access feature is only to
retrieve patient videos and images after the
procedure is complete. During the patient procedure,
the Endosee device cannot be controlled or
configured, or operated by wireless access.
•
The Endosee device also provides USB connection
to a computer for retrieving patient videos and
images after the procedure is complete, which is a
redundant function of the wireless access feature, in
case the wireless access has a failure.
