WiFi Passphrase
Endosee features wireless access to retrieve videos and im-
ages. As in all wireless systems, proper care must be taken to
insure the privacy and security of patient data. Wireless access
to your Endosee is disabled by default. If you chose to enable it,
the images and videos stored on the device are protected by a
WIFI Passphrase or password of your choosing.
The first time you enable wireless access you must choose a
password. This password will be retained unless you choose to
change it from the menu.
The Endosee can store images and videos of exams. If you
enter a name or ID for the patient, this field will also be stored
with the image or video. This type of information is considered
protected or private, so choose your password with care, and
make sure that it is not generally available. Anyone who knows
the password and has proximity to the Endosee can retrieve
the exam data. It is good practice to change the password if an
employee with access leaves the practice.
Password guidelines:
• A password should be 8 characters long minimum and can
consist of a combination of numbers and letters.
• Longer passwords are generally better.
• The password should not be easily guessable. Random
collections of characters are better than common words or
obvious numeric sequences. Here are a few examples of
poor passwords that are easily guessed:
- Passwords based on dates
- Passwords based on addresses
- Passwords that form a pattern on a keypad
- Passwords incorporating names or nicknames
- Passwords incorporating personal data or preferences
• Don't reuse the same password for multiple devices
or systems.
• Safeguard your password by storing it in a dedicated
Password keeper.
