5.5 Capteurs 4-Fils

5.5.1 Wiring

The 4-wire model fieldbus supports a M12 plug-in connector, 4 pin D-coded, suited for industrial Ethernet with IP67
protection rate with a screw retention feature.
For appropriate cables, voir paragraphe 10.1.3

5.5.2 Addressing

The factory default IP address for the Thermalert 4.0 sensor is 192.168.42.132
The last valid address is 254.
The IP address for the sensor is not free of choice: It must be unique in the network meaning that no other device
in the network including the PC network adapter may run at the same IP address.

5.5.2.1 Advanced Address Settings

Subnet Mask:
The Subnet Mask defines the interpretation of the IP address. The factory default setting is 255.255.255.0. The
Subnet Mask can be changed using the ASCII command <NM>.
Port:
In the case that the default port 6363 for the sensor should conflict with something else (it could be blocked by the
firewall for example) it can be changed using the ASCII command <PORT>.
Gateway:
A gateway connects two subnets (which have a different subnet address). The IP address of the gateway is given
with the ASCII command <GW>.
To establish the Ethernet communication, the subnet addresses for both the Thermalert 4.0 sensor and the PC
need to match! Appropriate changes can be applied either on the sensor side or on the PC network adapter!
The current settings for the IP address and the netmask of the PC can be asked with the command <ipconfig> in
1.800.561.8187
