There are two ways to reset the GSM switching module:
a) Reset via SMS
To restore factory settings by SMS, send the following SMS command (do not enter the quotation
marks): "Reset"
b) Reset using the "PWM" jumper
The restore factory settings using the "PWM" jumper, proceed as follows:
• Disconnect the GSM switching module from the
power supply.
• Open the casing and carefully remove the GSM
switching module.
• Bridge the two "PWM" pins (see right) and turn on
the power supply.
• Wait for about 2 seconds and disconnect the GSM
switching module from the power supply again.
• Install the GSM switching module in the casing and
close the casing properly.
The PIN of the switching module is now reset to "1234".
Make sure that the PIN of the used SIM card is set to "1234" as well. Set the pin using
a mobile phone according to the corresponding instructions.

9.10 Signal strength query


Every confirmation SMS includes information on the current signal strength.
If the signal strength is below 6, the reception quality at the installation place of the GSM switching
module is below 102 dBm. If this is the case, calls or SMS commands might not get through.
