5. Quick introduction
Dear Customer,
By purchasing the GSM Switching Module "GX101", you have acquired a powerful product. The
product can be configured according to your needs. To achieve the desired configuration, some basic
programming steps have to be followed.
To make using the device as easy and comfortable as possible, we would like to point out the most
important points to you step by step from a suitable installation place to the basic configuration.
The safety information in these operating instructions has to be observed at all times!
Step 1: Finding an installation place
To find a suitable installation place, see chapter "7. Installation and connection".
Step 2: Checking the reception
Check the reception at the designated place of installation to make sure that the device is positioned
properly. See chapter "7.2 Checking the reception quality at the installation place".
Step 3: Installation
Insert the SIM card into the holder and install the GSM switching module as described in chapter "7.3
Installation".
Set the PIN of the SIM card to be used to "1234" before inserting the SIM card into the
holder of the GSM switching module.
If the PIN is incorrect, the SIM card will be locked after the third log-in attempt. Bear
in mind that the GSM switching module tries to log into the mobile network as soon as
it is connected to the power supply. If this is the case, the SIM card can only be
unlocked in a mobile phone using the super PIN (PUK).
In addition, the answering machine function of the used SIM card must be deactivated.
Observe the operating instructions of your mobile phone a well.
